Expertise Built on Compassion
At Manilla Support Services Limited, our expertise is grounded in a deep understanding of the complex needs of children and young people in our care. We bring together trauma-informed practice, therapeutic child development, and a genuine commitment to every individual we support creating an environment where young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to grow.
Our team draws on decades of combined experience in residential childcare, social work, education, and therapeutic support. This breadth of knowledge allows us to respond to each child’s unique circumstances with tailored, evidence-informed strategies that promote healing, build resilience, and create lasting positive outcomes.
We have developed our own integrated framework the CARE Approach which guides every aspect of our practice, from daily routines to long-term care planning. This framework ensures consistency, quality, and a shared language of care across both Cloverdale House and Gannett House.
The CARE Approach
Our integrated care framework is built on four foundational principles that shape every interaction, every decision, and every moment of support we provide. Together, they form what we call the CARE Approach.
Compassionate
We lead with empathy in every interaction. Our staff are trained to recognise that behind every behaviour is a young person communicating a need, a fear, or a story. We respond with understanding rather than judgment, creating a culture where children feel genuinely cared for not managed. Compassion shapes how we greet each young person in the morning, how we handle difficult moments, and how we celebrate their successes, no matter how small.
Attachment-Focused
We understand that many of the young people we support have experienced disrupted attachments and early trauma. Our practice is grounded in attachment theory and trauma-informed care, ensuring that every staff member builds safe, trusting, and consistent relationships. We become the reliable adults in a child’s life people they can turn to, rely on, and learn to trust. This foundation of security is what makes all other growth possible.
Restorative
When things go wrong and they do, because healing is not linear we take a restorative approach. Rather than relying on punitive consequences, we help young people understand the impact of their actions, take responsibility, and make meaningful amends. This builds accountability, empathy, and self-worth simultaneously. Our staff are skilled in restorative conversations that repair relationships and turn difficult moments into powerful learning opportunities.
Empowerment
Everything we do is aimed at helping young people discover their own voice, build their confidence, and develop the skills they need for a successful future. We involve children in decisions about their care, encourage them to set and pursue personal goals, and celebrate their progress at every step. At Gannett House, this extends to practical independent living skills budgeting, cooking, managing appointments so that when the time comes, young people are ready to step forward with confidence.
What Our Expertise Delivers
Our integrated approach produces tangible, lasting outcomes for the children and young people in our care. We measure our success not just in regulatory compliance though we are proud of our strong Ofsted outcomes but in the real, everyday changes we see in the lives of the young people we support.
From the moment a young person arrives, often frightened and uncertain, we begin the slow, patient work of building trust, understanding their story, and helping them imagine a different future. The outcomes below represent what becomes possible when expertise meets genuine care.
